The award celebrates Grinsty Rail’s commitment to doing things better — and greener. From earning ISO 14001 certification to embedding sustainability at the heart of its operations, the company continues to prove that responsible engineering can drive real environmental change.
At Grinsty Rail, sustainability means repairing, reusing, and reimagining. By refurbishing, overhauling, and refreshing electronic, electromechanical, and seating components for rolling stock, the company extends component lifespans, reduces waste, and dramatically cuts emissions compared to manufacturing new. Every project focuses on upgrading materials, finding circular solutions for waste, and helping the rail industry meet its climate goals through smarter, more sustainable choices.
Grinsty Rail’s Interiors Division is currently wrapping up a successful Class 700 MÖVE Drivers Seat Aesthetic Refresh, updating amenities and extending service life with modern, durable finishes. Meanwhile, the Electronics Division has just kicked off an exciting new project to overhaul drivers’ adjustable height DSD pedestals, ensuring reliability, safety, and sustainability go hand in hand.
